Last week, the Suns’ Suits and their media handmaidens tried to convince the ticket-buying public that giving 33-year-old Tyson Chandler $52 million and sore-footed (take your pick: heel or ankle) Brandon Knight $70 million was going to somehow encourage LaMarcus Aldridge to join the team. Dealing Marcus Morris to the Pistons for a second-round pick – and throwing in Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger for nothing —  cleared cap space, too, but it appears that will just help pay Eric Bledsoe – if trade rumors about him remain just rumors. Truth is, once the Spurs’ Tim Duncan agreed to play for $6 million, Aldridge was a lock cinch to return home to Texas and have a solid shot at winning a ring with arguably the most revered franchise in the league.****
