Subject: Houston-Clippers TV Commentary

A couple of Reggie Miller gems:

1. Calling a MANDATORY television time out by Doc Rivers “a great time out.”

2. Saying “every team needs a Matt Barnes.”

With regard to the Clippers’ Barnes, it almost seems like every team already has had him.

To recap, the UCLA product was the 46th pick of the 2002 draft by Memphis (No. 1); traded on draft day to Cleveland (No. 2); waivered out of training camp; with Fayetteville (No. 3) in the D League (2002-03); with Long Beach (No. 4) of ABA (2003-04); finished season with the LA Clippers (No. 5) before becoming a free agent;

Signed by Sacramento (No. 6); traded to Philadelphia (No. 7) before, again, becoming a free agent;

Signed by New York (No. 8) and waived; signed (as a free agent) by Philadelphia (2nd stint with 76ers) before, again, becoming a free agent;

Signed by Golden State (No. 9), stays two seasons (2006-08) before becoming a free agent;

Signed by Phoenix (No. 10), before becoming a free agent after (2008-9) season;

Signed by Orlando (No. 11) before becoming a free agent after (2009-10) season;

Signed by LA Lakers (No. 12), stays two seasons (2010-12) before becoming a free agent;

Signed by LA Clippers (2nd stint), where he is completing a third season.

Uh, Reggie, in case you don’t know, there have been reasons for this man’s multiple peregrinations.
