Watching an MLK Day with wall-to-wall TV games — and seeing all that bullshit on the players’ elbows and their knees — brought my attention back to the NBA Summer League. If anyone is concerned about the (rising?) number of injuries, once the season and the playoffs are over, just send all the players home. Use the summer circle jerk for only the newly drafted rookies and free agents. This way, you still can justify all the hundreds of assistants, this, that and whatever. And, with the summer off, I guarantee there’ll be fewer injuries and less practice time and games missed. ++++
