Remember the movie, No Country for Old Men?  Now, we have no league for “big” men.
In the ’50s, we had George Mikan, Larry Foust, Neil Johnston. Next, John (Red) Kerr, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain and Wayne Embry spanned the ’50s and  ’60s … Then there were Walt Bellamy, Willis Reed, Nate Thurmond, Mel Daniels, Zelmo Beaty, Dave Cowens, Artis Gilmore and Bill Walton.
Across the ’70s and  ’80s, we had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (nee Lew Alcindor), Bob Lanier, Robert Parish, Moses Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon and, eventually,  Bill Laimbeer, In the 1990-2000 time frame, it was Patrick Ewing, David Robinson and Shaquille O’Neal.

Today, we have … Dwight Howard, Brook Lopez and Roy Hibbert — plus a bunch of midget guards running around shooting 3s.  That’s where we are these days, folks.
