SOME NBA OBSERVATIONS

*Reserves for the most part play better at home
*Quality time during the season allows San Antonio Reserves to play better than most.
*Also, when the game gets out of hand “Pop” and most coaches like to yank their starters- reminds of a story back when:  The game was a rout and a teammate said to me, “they got us into this mess, why the hell doesn’t he let them finish it”. Think about it.
*Now that the spotlight is on flopping, it makes it harder for the Referees to make more accurate calls. They are just like the players, they function better when they are more relaxed.  Guess what, we never had this problem in the old days.  Yes, you don’t want to hear that bullshit but I’m going to tell you anyway.  The players took care of it.  If a guy was a flopper and there were very few. The unwritten rule was let’s see how tough he is.  We were told instead of trying to avoid the block, pick up speed, put your head down and flatten him.  Then put your hand up and walk away.  There were very few guys who wanted to take a charge night in and night out.  Except for one I might add, Jerry Sloan, who was bruised and battered.  Don’t doubt this because I was there.
